Kim Kardashian Had Severe Depression After Ending Marriage to Kris Humphries

Kim Kardashian went away for 4 entire months after her marriage to Kris Humphries ended because she was severely depressed. This is one of the many revelations the reality star made during her interview with Oprah for the Next Chapter on OWN.

As we also informed you the other day, during the hour-long interview, Kim talks about her new man Kanye West, her soon to be ex-husband Kris, her mother and manager Kris Jenner, and the controversial way in which she shot to international fame.

On the topic of marriage, she tries really hard to make a point of how much she too was hurt when she decided to pull the plug and file the divorce papers.

Even though she was married to Kris only for 72 days and despite the fact that she immediately realized that “he wasn't the one,” Kim was heartbroken that their relationship didn't work out, she admits to Oprah (quotes via Radar Online).

In fact, she was so depressed that she decided to take 4 months off and just be by herself. She's really grown up because of that experience, she says.

“I was in such a deep depression I thought I was going to back away from everything. I stayed at home for almost four months and I'm a better person now, as heartbreaking as it was to go through,” Kim says.

This might seem a very sad story, but fans will remember that, right after filing the divorce papers, she and sister Khloe flew to Australia to promote their new fashion line – and yes, Kim did take divorce questions in the promo interviews, which hardly qualifies as “staying home.”

Even so, Kim is sorry for what she's done but she believes she didn't intentionally do wrong.

“For anyone I hurt, I'm truly sorry, I don't wish pain on anyone, but the person I am because of that crazy experience, I wouldn't change it for the world,” she explains.

With Oprah pressing her for details on what exactly went wrong in her marriage, Kim is careful not to lay the blame on Kris, saying he will always hold a special place in her heart; but it just wasn't meant to be.

“I loved him, obviously it hurt him, and it hurt me too. It was embarrassing, I don't want to call it a mistake, it was a lesson. He's a good person. I will always have a place in my heart for him. It just wasn't for me,” she says.

“You know in your heart. Mom was supportive, so I took that time off afterwards... I would rather have been beaten up in the media than live a life that wasn't happy,” Kim adds.

Below is more from what Kim told Oprah about her personal life and her controversial and ridiculously short-lived marriage.
