Diablo 3 Patch 1.0.3 Out This Month, Brings Many Changes

Blizzard has confirmed that Diablo 3 will receive a brand new patch later this month, in the form of update 1.0.3, which brings a wide array of changes to the role- playing dungeon crawler. These range from improved chances of getting good items, to a lower difficulty when playing with others, or a better balance when fighting in Acts II, III or IV on the Inferno mode.

Diablo 3 received its latest patch last week, in the form of update 1.0.2, which brought forth quite a few improvements to lingering issues.

With the upcoming patch 1.0.3, Blizzard wants to make some other changes to Diablo 3.

First up is improving the drop rates of better items depending on the difficulty. As such, while it may seem like a good idea to farm Act IV of the game on the Hell difficulty, it’s much better to try out Act I on the Inferno one, as you have a higher chance of getting great gear.

Legendary items aren’t going to be improved in this patch, but Blizzard has emphasized that it’s working on a few solutions after 1.0.3 is released.

Players who rely on stacking the Nephalem Valor ability, which in turn improves your chance of getting good gear, will notice a drop in luck when beating bosses, as Blizzard wants to reward taking down packs of enemies in the Champion or Rare tiers by offering better item drop rates.

Blizzard is also removing the bonus monster damage per additional player in a coop game, as it wants to make playing the game alongside friends an easier experience, especially on higher difficulty levels.

Speaking of difficulty, the studio also brings some changes to the Inferno one, in order to make getting into Acts II, III or IV much simpler.

“We feel like Act I Inferno is in a pretty good place. Our design goal with Acts II, III and IV is to keep them challenging, but smooth the difficulty ramp out a bit. If a monk or barbarian is geared well enough that they can use a heavily offensive build and murder everything in Act I, they should be able to swap to a more defensive build and do okay in Act II. As they gear up they can begin adjusting back to becoming offensive in Act II, at which point they can jump into Act III with a focus on defense, and so on,” the company said.

Blizzard is also modifying the repair costs for level 60 players, in order to make death a harsher penalty on players who simply started fights, died, and then came back multiple times until they defeated the enemy.

Plenty of other things are included in Diablo 3’s future patch 1.0.3, so check out Blizzard’s official post about it here. The update is set to appear later this month.
