Zynga Games Coming to Nokia Asha Touch Phones

Unveiled back in June, the Asha Touch series has been recently launched on the market. Nokia Asha 305, Asha 306 and Asha 311 are aimed at emerging markets, so don’t expect these to be too impressive when it comes to hardware.

Customers who purchased one of the feature-phones in the Asha Touch series have already found that they can enjoy titles from major games, including EA, Gameloft and Rovio.

Last month, Nokia announced that 20 additional classic games from NAMCO BANDAI are available for Asha Touch phones.

Today, the Finnish company added a new leading game developer to its list of partners, Zynga. Starting later this year, popular games “Draw Something” and “Zynga Poker” will be available for download to all Asha Touch owners.

According to Nokia, both games will be free downloads from the Nokia Store and will be fully compatible with Asha 305, Asha 306 and Asha 311.

All three Asha Touch phones are equipped with a 1 GHz single-core processor and run Nokia’s S40 UI. They pack 10MB of internal memory, 64MB of ROM and 32MB of RAM.

Users can further expand storage up to 32GB via microSD memory card. It is also worth mentioning all three Asha Touch handsets are shipped with free 2GB microSD memory cards.

Although they come with touchscreen displays, the quality of the screens is a bit of a letdown given the fact they come with resistive touch display and support only 56k colors.

It’s great to expand our offering of Zynga games to deliver more blockbuster titles across our portfolio of mobile devices, giving consumers great choice and tremendous value. With premium design, powerful hardware and outstanding gaming capabilities, we’re redefining what consumers expect from today’s feature phone experience,” said Bryan Biniak, Nokia’s vice-president & general manager of Global Partnering & Application Development.
