Script of the Day: Photon

Photon is a CSS3 3D lighting effects engine. It's the first of its kind, allowing web developers to create realistic 3D shapes via CSS 3 and JavaScript.

Basically, the engine allows a programmer to define an object's faces and the type and quantity of light that falls on them. Photon then goes and adds tint and shadows based on the developer's settings.

Not only can Photon create an artificial light source on a web page, but it can also move it around when needed, adding extra dynamics to a static shape.

Photon is relatively processor-intensive, so use with care if deploying to a live website.
