Check Out the Revamped Click-to-Play Flash UI in Firefox

The click-to-play feature, included in Firefox 14, now in the stable channel, is probably one of the best "hidden" features in Firefox at the moment. Chrome has had something similar for a year now, but Firefox users had to rely on add-ons. Now though, they've got the functionality built-in.

Granted, Mozilla doesn't believe it's ready for the prime time yet, which is why the feature is hidden in the advanced config options. One reason why Mozilla is holding out may be because it wants to add a bit more polish before unleashing the feature on all its users.

It's probably for the best too, less tech savvy users may discover they're causing more problems than they're fixing with click-to-play.

Mozilla has big plans for the feature. For one, Firefox will enable users to enable plugins on a case by case basis, rather than all or nothing like now. The mockup above shows the UI for click-to-play along with the upcoming Australis redesign.
