A Simple Method to Improve Memory in Parkinson's

According to the conclusions of a new scientific investigation, it would appear that people suffering from Parkinson's disease could experience memory improvements if they get enough good sleep.

The research suggests that addressing the number and severity of sleep disorders in this specific subgroup of the general population could indirectly result in memory improvements, without addressing this array of conditions head-on.

Scientists say that Parkinson's patients suffer from a type of impairment that affects their working memory. This prevents them from being able to plan ahead, solve problems, and live independently. Sleeping apparently does wonders for restoring this ability, PsychCentral reports.

Details of the research, which was carried out by experts at Emory University School of Medicine, appear in the latest issue of the esteemed scientific journal Brain.
