Script of the Day: FlatPress

FlatPress is a blogging engine, modeled after WordPress and SimplePHPBlog, but built to use a flat-file storage system, making it ideal for deploying on web servers with no database access.

Extremely easy to install and start running, FlatPress is a solution for users lacking the time and resources to run more powerful solutions like WordPress, Joomla or Movable Type.

The admin panel is extremely simplistic, but straight to the point, allowing fast and intuitive customizations and publishing of new content.

FlatPress has a similar widget publishing mechanism as WordPress and provides further customization options via themes and plugins.

Its development is handled via SourceForge and a demo blog installation is hosted by the OpenSource CMS service.
