Those of you who've seen Ridley Scott's “Prometheus” must still be wondering what David the android could have possibly told the Engineer to make him so mad as to rip his head off his shoulders. We have the key to that mystery.
Dr. Anil Biltoo of the SOAS Language Center in London, who acted as the language consultant on the film, spoke with The Bioscopist and dished some dirt on the conversation that took place inside the alien ship.
Yes, there was a conversation, but it was cut to leave only David's line and the Engineer's reaction; the rest will be included on the director's cut.
The language spoken there is Proto-Indo-European (PIE). David's line sounded like
/ida hmanÉ™m aɪ kja namá¹›tuh zdÉ›:taha/…/ghʷɪvah-pjorn-ɪttham sas da:tá¹› kredah/
This man is here because he does not want to die. He believes you can give him more life.
In other words, David asked for immortality on behalf of his maker, Peter Weyland.
