Kim Kardashian Says Divorce Was Epiphany, Shes More Mature Now

Kim Kardahian's marriage to Kris Humphries lasted a mere 72 days but that's not to say she hasn't learned her lesson from it. In fact, she'd go as far as to describe it an “epiphany,” she tells Oprah during an interview for Oprah's Next Chapter.

As we also reported last week, the entire Kardashian clan invited Oprah into their home for an interview that aired this Sunday on Oprah's show on OWN.

Among the topics up for discussion were their reality empire, which is now expanded to include ventures outside of television, Kris Jenner's motherly and managerial skills, the dynamics that makes America's (seemingly) favorite family function and, of course, Kim's ascension to fame.

Not few are those who say she would be nowhere had it not been for her father, her former BFF Paris Hilton and a certain personal tape that “leaked” online without her consent.

Similarly, not few are those who say her marriage to Kris Humphries was as fake as the manufactured drama around the aforementioned tape.

Kim denies it, saying she's learned a lot from her failed marriage to the basketballer (her second so far), including how to always date older men.

“It's like how Kourtney had this epiphany when she had her baby and she changed into a different person, I feel like I've had an epiphany over the last year,” Kim says, referring to her older sister Kourtney, who is now expecting her second child with partner Scott Disick.

“For what I've been through and I am that changed person, just from my own experiences,” she goes on to say.

Right now, Kim is dating rapper (and good friend) Kanye West, who is a few years older than she is. She believes the key to making a relationship work, at least for her, is to date older men.

“I always dated five years younger. My whole thing was completely different, and now I just love that I'm with someone that's a couple years older than me,” Kim explains.

In the same interview, Kim notes she's proud of representing Middle Eastern women in modern society and in showbiz, saying she would have probably never been this famous had she been a skinny, pretty white chick.
