Katy Perry Goes Goth, Deep in Wide Awake Video

Who said pop music can't be deep, meaningful? Katy Perry has just unveiled the brand new video for her latest single, “Wide Awake,” and it's really something else to watch.

Check it out in full and in HD above.

The clip ties in perfectly with her “California Gurls” era and the upcoming 3D concert movie “Part of Me,” thanks to a very clever opening and ending.

It also shows Katy dealing with fame and learning to get back in touch with her real self, represented here by a young and totally adorable Katheryn.

“I just wanted to tell a story about myself going through this journey, maybe sometimes trying to get out of the maze. There’s good parts, there’s bad parts,” Katy once said about the song.

The same applies for the video.
