Galaxy S III Priced at $599 on Verizons Unlimited Data Plans

Samsung Galaxy S III, the latest flagship Android-based mobile phone from the South Korean handset vendor, is expected to make its way to Verizon’s network in early July, the latest reports on the matter suggest.

Users who would like to acquire the smartphone with a contract agreement at the carrier will be able to pay $199/€160 for its 16GB flavor, while pulling $249/€199 out of their pockets for the 32GB version.

The handset will become available for pre-order at the wireless carrier as soon as today, but no official word on its arrival has been provided so far.

In addition to a rumored release date of July 9th, leaked documents from Verizon also show how much the carrier is planning on charging users who would like to have the new mobile phone on an unlimited data plan.

A screenshot of Verizon’s Equipment Guide (which emerged on Droid-life) shows that the 16GB iteration of Galaxy S III would be priced at $599/€480 with unlimited data attached to it, and that the 32GB version would go for $659/€528 in the same conditions.

This might be seen as a bit too much for some subscribers, especially when compared to the cost of other devices on contract, that’s for sure. However, access to unlimited data on the most anticipated Android of the year could easily offset that.

Galaxy S III will land at Verizon with support for its 3G and 4G networks, courtesy of a 1.5GHz Snapdragon dual-core application processor that Samsung has packed it with.

The smartphone also comes with 2GB of RAM, a 4.8-inch touchscreen display, and a microSD memory card slot to expand the available internal memory. It also sports WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, GPS receiver, and the usual set of sensors.

On the back, Galaxy S III features an 8-megapixel photo snapper with support for full HD video recording, complemented by a 1.9MP front camera for making video calls.
