Firefox 15 Aurora Comes with a Hidden In-Tab Preferences Feature

Firefox 15 is already in the Aurora channel. It's got several interesting features, a built-in PDF viewer, support for SPDY v3 as well as a nice plug for add-on memory leaks. But it's also got some stuff that's not ready for public consumption just yet, like in-tab or in-content preferences.

Browsers have been moving towards this for a while now, particularly Chrome, and Firefox is doing the same. Firefox 15 already incorporates in-content preferences, but the feature is not enabled by default.

You have to visit about:config, search for browser.preferences.inContent and set it to true. The feature should be enabled immediately, you don't need to restart the browser.

Just hit the Preferences button in the Firefox menu and check out the new feature. It still needs some polish and it's not exactly pretty, but it works so Mozilla shouldn't have long to go before enabling it by default for everyone.
