E3 2012 Video Game Idea 4 Expo versus Zombies

The biggest trend in video games over the last few years has undoubtedly been represented by undead, from zombies to vampires, and, with E3 being the biggest convention dedicated to the industry in the world, it makes sense to imagine a game where the various exhibitors and visitors are forced to do battle with the walking dead.

The concept would be glorious, with journalists, attendees, personalities, actors, musicians, baseball players, booth babes, bouncers and PR personnel all forced to forget about their problems and their conflicts in order to face the might of the undead horde.

Each will constitute a class and will have to use specific equipment and items in order to deal with the horde while carefully choosing how to use the limited resources of the Los Angeles Convention Center, from the power supply to the food and water reserves.

One obvious advantage that the video game industry clearly has over the zombie population is experience (virtual, but still) when dealing with their various plans to attack and tactics.

On the other hand, physical shape is not really something that E3 is known for when it comes to those who attend and that might be a long term problem when faced with relentless undead.

One big problem for any company interested in creating EvZ will be to determine the kind of undead that will be unleashed on E3: fast, smart, slow, dumb, craving brains or any part of a human.

I personally believe that, given the subject of the game, the developers should mix and match their undead in order to make sure that the human population has a few surprises to deal with at every turn (a deal for the special effects created by Valve for Left 4 Dead would be invaluable).

Given the zombie love going in the media and video game world at the moment, EvZ would have a solid chance at becoming a commercial success and powering a full franchise.
