Casey Anthony to Testify in Court on Hidden Income

Though she planned to leave for Costa Rica the moment her probation was over, Casey Anthony is forced to stay in Florida until the case filed against her by Zenaida Gonzalez closes. She will also have to testify on hidden income.

Attorneys for Zenaida Gonzalez have managed to track Anthony down in Florida and serve her with papers for a lawsuit in which she's accused of defamation.

Back when the disappearance of her daughter Caylee was being investigated, Anthony told police she'd been kidnapped by her nanny, a woman named Zenaida Gonzalez.

A nanny with such a name did not exist, but Mrs. Gonzalez's life was never the same as before the name came out in the press. She's seeking unspecified damages.

Because of this, Anthony will have to explain in court how come she's been able to support herself for the past year, since she was acquitted of the murder of her daughter, without holding down to a job.

Radar Online notes that she will have to provide very accurate details of her income, including whether it stems from media deals or sponsorships.

“Casey will be asked by Zenaida's lawyers if she has a book deal, and if she has been paid an advance, if she has a television, movie, or media deal or if she has a benefactor supporting her,” a well-placed source dishes for the celebrity publication.

“She will be forced to answer who has given her money and how she has been able to live for the past year without having a job. This will be important for the jury to hear because Zenaida is seeking unspecified damages,” adds the insider.

Reports have it that Anthony is terribly “annoyed” that she has to remain in Florida until the trial is over, since she'd planned to move to Costa Rica and start afresh, having long come to terms with the fact that there's no hiding in the US.

Gonzalez's attorney confirms for Radar that Anthony's reaction to being served papers was anything but compliant.

“Too bad! Yes, we heard that Ms. Anthony was annoyed that she was going to have to testify at the trial,” John Dill, Gonzalez's lawyer, says.

“This was all brought on by Ms. Anthony herself, she is the one that started down this road and it's time that she be held to answer for her actions. Zenaida's life has been absolutely upended by Ms. Anthony's actions, so, no, I don't feel bad that she is upset. Again, she brought this all on herself,” Dill adds.
