AT&T Officially Confirms LG Optimus G with 1.5 GHz Quad-Core CPU

The upcoming LG Android flagship smartphone Optimus G has just been confirmed by US-based carrier AT&T. Unfortunately, there are no details on the exact release or pricing options yet.

However, we suspect that the LG Optimus G will hit shelves in the United States sometime in November.

Rumor has it that Google has chosen the smartphone to join the rank of its Nexus series and plans to launch it next month.

Although both Optimus G and the Nexus variant will have similar hardware configurations, the latter will be powered by a Vanilla iteration of Android, while the former will run a customized version.

This means that AT&T customers who purchase the LG Optimus G should expect to receive the highly-praised QuickMemo and QSlide features, as well as Dual Screen Play.

With QuickMemo users will be able to write, draw or take notes directly on any captured screen so they will be able to quickly share it with others as attachments or URLs.

QSlide is another interesting feature that allows users to text or browse the web without having to close the video they are watching.

LG Optimus G users will also be able to share content with other electronic devices, including TVs and computers, thanks to the innovative Dual Screen Dual Play ability.

At only 8.45mm thick, the Optimus G is one of the slimmest smartphones launched by LG. The device comes with 4G LTE support for AT&T’s network, as well as NFC (Near Field Communication) technology.

The LG Optimus G lets our customers work and play as hard as they want with one of our first quad core processor designed to deliver a great multitasking experience. We think customers will really enjoy having the power of a computer in the palm of their hand,” said Jeff Bradley, senior vice president – Devices, AT&T.
