New Xbox Console Confirmed by Microsoft Manager

Microsoft’s Windows Live General Manager, Brian Hall, has inadvertently confirmed during a podcast that the company is working on a new Xbox console, saying that it will be in line with all of the new things currently being released by the large software and hardware manufacturer.

Even if the Xbox 360 was released way back in 2006 and despite the constant speculation that a new Xbox 720 is coming, Microsoft has declined to comment on any sorts of rumors about a next-generation home console, even denying outright its future plans.

Now, however, the company has practically confirmed that a new Xbox is coming in the near future.

Speaking with The Verge in a podcast, Microsoft’s Windows Live GM Brian Hall has revealed that all of the new services, including the recently launched Outlook webmail service, are released "right in time for the new wave of products that we have coming out with Windows 8, with the new version of Office, with the New Windows Phone and the new Xbox."

Given the fact that the new Office and the new Windows Phone OS are going to be released this October, it stands to reason that a new Xbox (the oft-rumored Xbox 720) is not far behind.

As of yet, Microsoft hasn’t commented on the statement.
