Firefox Blocking Several Older Versions of Java

Mozilla hasn't been shy to use its blocklist to remotely disable vulnerable plugins in Firefox, for the safety of its users. Some people may have complained about this, but it's best to have a couple of people annoyed than a few tens or hundreds of millions vulnerable to getting infected.

Java has been a main culprit in many of these cases and Mozilla is once again blocklisting old versions of Java with known vulnerabilities. Specifically, the Java plugin version 6 update 32 and version 7 update 4 along with any older versions are being disabled in Firefox.

Oracle has already issued new versions of the plugin that fix the vulnerability, back in June, and users are encouraged to upgrade rather than continue to use versions for which there are known exploits in the wild.

If you have a very serious reason for doing so and know exactly what you're doing and why you're doing it, you can re-enable the plugins or ignore the initial notification.
