Dishonored Sequel Might Emphasize RPG Elements

Despite the fact that the first Dishonored video game has not yet been launched, the development team at Arkane Studios is already thinking about the future and the possibilities that would be open when it comes to sequel and spin-offs.

Raf Colantonio, a co-founder of Arkane and the creative director on Dishonored, has told VG247 that, “Personally I am very happy with the reaction we are getting right now, and if you look at all of the games we have worked on, they are always on the same axis of RPG and FPS. I want to stay somewhere in that area.”

He added, “Personally I would like to explore more of the RPG side, back to the start of Arkane Studios, but this mix of RPG and FPS is really what I like. I don’t play many games in a year, but I know that whenever there is a Bethesda game that comes out, I’m going to enjoy it.”

Colantonion has mentioned the Elder Scrolls series as one of the titles that he is interested in and believes that it might offer some clues as to the potential future of Dishonored.

The game stars Corvo, a very capable former bodyguard to an assassinate Queen who has since been visited by a supernatural entity.

He now has a number of magic abilities and a range of items and weapons that will need to be used in order to uncover a wider conspiracy in the town of Dunwall.

The game will encourage players to be creative and move between stealth and frontal assaults when it comes to tackling the various challenges.

Dishonored will be out on October 9 in North America and three days later in Europe and gamers will be able to play on the PC, the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and the PlayStation 3 from Sony.
