Cybercriminals Sell Skype Spamming Tool for $10 (8 EUR)

Instant messaging services are a great medium for sending out large amounts of spam, especially since many users don’t know how to properly configure their accounts to ensure that they don’t receive unsolicited messages.

Experts from Webroot have come across a tool called Skype Flooder, a piece of software capable of sending out spam to users of a particular gender, or ones from a particular country.

The tool costs only $10 (8 EUR) and those who purchase it will automatically receive a database of 5,000 Skype users that they can start spamming right away.

Such pieces of software can be highly effective in targeted campaigns.

However, fortunately, Skype customers can easily protect themselves against such tools by ensuring that they can only receive messages or calls from users who are in their contact list.
