Super Talent Releases Very Low Profile DDR3 RAM

The last several product releases from Super Talent were in the realm of NAND Flash storage, but this one has to do with the dynamic random access memory (DRAM) market instead.

The company has introduced four new memory modules, all of which have low operating voltages of 1.35 V, though they can operate in 1.5 V environments if the situation calls for it.

One of them, the DDR3 Mini-RDIMM, offers 8 GB and a clock frequency of 1,600 MHz. The height is of 30 mm (1.18 inches) and the width is 82 mm (3.23 inches).

Moving on, there are two VLP RDIMM modules, with 4 GB and 8 GB capacities, respectively, but the same clock speed as above. They are 18.75 mm tall (0.74 inches) and 133.35 mm wide (5.25 inches).

The fourth and final module is the 8 GB VLP ECC UDIMM whose clock speed is also 1,600 MHz and which is just as big as the VLP RDIMM modules. Not surprising, considering that VLP stands for precisely that trait (very low profile).

Primary customers should be administrators of embedded blade systems seeking to reduce cooling and power costs, as well as CO2 emissions.
