Viral of the Day: Teen in Desperate Need of Lungs Transplant Pleads for Organ Donation

At 19, Holly Pereira has the weight of the world on her shoulders. Unlike other girls her age, she can’t do some of the most basic things that we take for granted – and she’s using her own case to raise awareness on organ donation.

Holly has cystic fibrosis and has already been put on a waiting list for a lungs transplant. Sadly, she knows that, by the time the call comes in, it might already be too late for her.

Such a tragedy would be avoided (and not just in her case) if more people agreed to have their organs donated, she says in the video.

“If I can get just a few people to sign up to the register which in future saves lives, even if it’s too late for me, that would be amazing,” Holly says.
