New Photo of Windows Phone 8-Based HTC Accord Available

Tomorrow should be a big day for both Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation and for Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 operating system.

The handset vendor is expected to make official its first smartphones running under Microsoft’s mobile operating system, and the long rumored HTC Accord should be among them.

The handset has been long said to be en-route to shelves as HTC’s flagship smartphone, yet it appears that it will actually be a mid-range device.

The phone can be seen in a new photo that leaked over at PhoneArena, showing it in all of its glory.

There are not too many new details available on it at the moment, other than the fact that it might arrive on shelves without a microSD memory card slot packed inside.

However, the phone is said to come with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, and to offer great image capabilities to its users.

HTC Accord is also rumored to make an appearance on shelves in the United States over at Verizon wireless, being expected to pack support for the carrier’s 4G LTE network when made available.

The phone will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor inside, most probably a dual-core, and not the quad-core CPU that HTC’s Elation could feature when made available.

Previous rumors also suggested that HTC might pack this smartphone with a 4.3-inch touchscreen display.

HTC Accord was said to hit shelves either as HTC 8X or HTC 8S. We tend to believe that it would be the latter, since the “X” might actually suggest a flagship device, but, without an official confirmation, we’ll have to take the info with a grain of salt for the time being.

All could be unveiled as soon as tomorrow, during an event that HTC has set for 11:00 AM EST, so stay tuned to learn more details on what the company plans for the future.
