Brothers in Arms: Furious 4 Gets Renamed, Becomes Standalone Game

Gearbox Software has confirmed that its already announced Brothers in Arms: Furious 4 game has dropped the Brothers in Arms title and will be known under a new name, in order to reflect the array of new mechanics and features that have been added to its shooter experience.

The Brothers in Arms series has delighted many gamers from all over the world with top-notch shooting mechanics and an emphasis on strategy, so fans were surprised to see the franchise go into a more flamboyant route with Furious 4, a spinoff that was announced to the world back at E3 2011.

Now, Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford told Kotaku that so many changes happened with Furious 4 that it would no longer be a Brothers in Arms game.

The CEO declined to reveal any other details, but promised that plenty of new features were introduced into the shooter, including a possible RPG-like progression system, just like in Gearbox’s upcoming Borderlands 2.

Given the studio’s tight-lipped nature, don’t expect to hear anything about Furious 4 anytime soon.
