Apple Launches a Completely Renanoed iPod

Apple has released the seventh generation of the iPod nano, an all-new version of the player with a widescreen display, Multi-Touch, built-in Bluetooth, and seven colors.

The new nano is the thinnest iPod to date. It measures just 5 mm in depth, despite sporting a relatively large display.

The 2.5-inch screen is said to make navigating music even easier than before. To be frank, anything should be easier than trying to hold the square iPod nano 6G with one hand, swiping icons on its 1.5-inch display.

The new nano also gets a home button, which enables you to quickly navigate back to your home screen, as well as other convenient buttons to easily control volume and play, pause or change songs.

Bluetooth enables wireless listening with Bluetooth-enabled headphones, speakers and car kits.

It offers the longest music playback of any iPod nano to date â€" 30 hours â€" “so you can enjoy your playlists and FM radio even longer.” Yes, that’s right. It also has a built-in FM tuner.

The usual fitness features are included as well. Users will get a pedometer and support for Nike+.

The new Lightning dock connector is present on this device as well. The new nano comes in seven vibrant colors and color-matched wallpapers.

The device ships with the Apple EarPods featuring a new design for a more natural fit, and increased acoustic quality.

“With over 350 million sold, iPod is the world’s most popular and beloved music player,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.

“Music lovers may have a difficult time deciding between the reinvented iPod nano, the thinnest iPod ever, and the all-new iPod touch with its stunning 4-inch Retina display, 5 megapixel iSight camera and ultra-thin design—both in beautiful new colors.”

The seventh-generation iPod nano will be available in October for a suggested price of $149 / €115 for 16GB of on-board storage.
