Watch: The Onion Lets Us In on What the Desert Is All About

Having already entertained us by poking fun at several aspects having to do with “Our Horrifying Planet”, The Onion returns and presents us with a video discussing the ins and outs of life in the Sahara desert.

Truth be told, this footage is not so much about “life” in these environmental conditions, but about how, due to both the intense heat and the lack of water, most animals that happen to stumble in the desert end up dying as a result of dehydration.

Thus, vultures alone are left to wonder these patches of wilderness.

Still, even they sometimes hit some very rough patches, seeing how they feast on so many corpses that they become overweight and develop heart conditions.

As The Onion puts it, the Sahara desert is "the world's largest, most uncomfortable tomb."
