Strange Facts About Cats That You Probably Don't Know
Oddstuffmagazine has recently published some odd and interesting facts about cats.“Ailurophilia,” for example, is the “official” term used to describe a cat lover.
“Psi-traveling” is the cat's ability to find its way home, by interpreting the angle of the sunlight. That is just one cool skill that felines have.
Another is the ability to make 100 different sounds, 10 times the number that dogs make. The cat's body is well adapted to jumping and climbing, as the feline has 53 loosely fitting vertebrae, more than the 34 that humans have.
Even though a cat's eyesight may appear to be better than a human's, because they can make out objects in the dark easily, your pets are a little color blind, and perceive grass as being red.
The most fertile cat in history was Kitty, who gave birth to 218 kittens during her lifetime, the last two of which she birthed when she was 30-years-old.
The world's richest cat is Blackie, a lucky feline that inherited $24 million (€18 million) from his owner, Ben Rea. Blackie is not the luckiest cat in the world, however. That title goes to Andy, the daredevil that survived a 200 ft/60 m fall from the 16th floor of a building.
