NAND Flash Chips May Be in Higher Demand in September-October

It wasn't too long ago that we learned about how surprisingly weak NAND sales were getting, with concerns amounting in regard to whether or not average selling prices would hold.

Now, though, the companies involved in this market segment are becoming more optimistic about their prospects.

Long story short, they feel it is possible that, with better sales of tablets and ultrabooks (following the launch of Windows 8), and possible improvements on the smartphone front, demand for NAND supply will take off in September and October (2012).

For those that haven't been keeping up with this particular issue, chips used in SSDs, flash drives, hybrid drives and memory cards have been having trouble selling this past quarter.

Most solid-state product vendors ended up with oversupply, with a few exceptions, like OCZ, whose financial results mentioned a deficit, of all things.
