Deadpool Is Turning High Moon Studio Developers Into Fans

The upcoming Deadpool video game, which is being developed by High Moon Studios and published by Activision, will use the lessons that the two companies have learned from the creation of the two Transformers games, which were also built using already existing intellectual property.

Greg Agius, who is the marketing manager working at High Moon Studios, has stated, “We work symbiotically with the Activision team: they have the resources and mass market expertise, we provide assets and knowledge that bring everything close to the IP.”

The executive says that the entire development team needs to turn into fans of the IP they are working on in order to make sure that the product that they create can stand up in the eyes of a true fan.

When it comes to the marketing effort, for both Deadpool and for Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, High Moon plans make sure that all the ads it runs are true to the game and only use assets that players themselves will be able to see when they pick up the titles.

Agius added, “Being accurate to the character has already paid huge dividends with Deadpool’s game announcement at San Diego Comic Con. We broke the fourth wall and took over Marvel’s panel, spray painted a Spider-Man billboard, and made everything look and feel Deadpool.”

The marketing manager described the reaction as “glorious insanity,” with a lot of fan talk on forums and millions of hits on the official site.

The Deadpool game will use Daniel Way, the writer of the comic, to create the scrop, and Nolan North, who has experience voicing Deadpool, will be the actor who portrays the “merc with a mouth”.

High Moon has not offered too much information on the gameplay or story of the game.

The new Deadpool video game will be launched on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 during 2013.
