Bing Becomes a Verb, Makes Its Way into Online Dictionary

Bing, Microsoft's search engine, was designed with a major goal in mind: to become a verb and thus attract more users, in a similar way Google did with its very own search service.

And although the Redmond-based company admitted last week that Bing has minor chances to turn into a verb, Internet users have included the term “Bing” in the Collins online dictionary.

One of the definitions lists the term “Bing” as a noun – a popular search engine on the Internet – and as a verb – to search for (something on the Internet) using Bing.

Obviously, it's difficult to assume that Microsoft has something to do with this and it's even more difficult to believe that someone will ever say that he'll Bing you. Metaphorically speaking, on the other hand, it may give the sentence a whole new meaning.
