Age of Conan Gets Secrets of Dragons Spine Updates

Developer Funcom has announced that it is planning to deliver a number of updates and changes for its MMO Age of Conan: Unchained under the name Secrets of Dragon’s Spine, set to introduce a new area to the game while also adding new quests, monsters, dungeons and rewards.

The new area is a desert set to the south and the west of the ancient city of Pterion and players will be free to explore it at their own pace, looking for the oasis that is set in the shadow of a mighty mountain and the caves and tunnels buried under it.

The core of the new area for the MMO will be the Palace of Cetriss, near the mountain, with a number of species inhabiting the area and ready to fight the player for the right to inhabit it.

The new content launched will be aimed at level 80 players and a number of new dungeons will offer fresh challenges: The Coils of Ubah Kan, The Sepulchral of the Wyrm and The Slithering Chaos.

Funcom is also planning to deliver a new raid area, an outdoor region that is the same size as the coast of Ardashir and a new area for gamers who like Player versus Player battles.

The new content also includes new rewards, weapons, cultural items and armor sets.

Craig Morrison, who is a creative director at Funcom, stated, “Our version of Hyboria has grown into a vast online world since we launched back in 2008. With the ‘Secrets of Dragon’s Spine’ update we are moving into an incredibly exciting part of Robert E. Howard’s work, and I think both ‘Age of Conan’ players and fans of Howard’s work alike will find a lot to enjoy once they get to explore this new content.”

The new Secrets of Dragon’s Spine content for Age of Conan will be delivered piece meal, with the first package expected in the next few months.
